In September 1971 Bruce Frisby rather shocked his wife by appearing at the hospital after the birth of their only son and announcing that he had left his job at Mettoy and had decided to start his own engineering business. This was the start of the journey into extruder machinery.
Bruce was approached by a large petfood manufacturer based in Melton Mowbray in the UK as they were interested in alternatives to their usual extruder wear part supplier. Bruce worked his magic and became their supplier and decided this was the industry for him. He built the business and the company’s knowledge and started to supply large companies all over the world.
In 1987 Bruce’s son, Matthew, joined the business with his mum and dad whilst also completing his engineering qualifications. To make it a real family affair Matthew’s wife Katie also joined the staff in 2000. This is a true family business, and the values reflect this in the personal service that is provided.
Over the years the company has changed its name and weathered many different global economic difficulties – from global pandemics to Brexit! They have worked together with larger extruder manufacturers and used this experience to widen their knowledge and the range of parts they supply. Our business is global, and we have customers in nearly all the continents of the world.
We specialise in extruders and extruder wear parts, from screws to shafts and often we can offer bespoke parts to meet our customer’s needs. During 2020 we also launched our brand new twin screw extruder onto the marketplace, despite the global pandemic!
The extruder market has changed significantly over the last 50 years, and we have continually adapted and changed to meet our customers’ needs and requirements.
